Cyclone Aides serve as student ambassadors during Orientation and Destination Iowa State. They assist with creating a positive transition for new students and their family members. Their important role includes acting as a campus resource, participating on student panels, providing excellent customer service, hosting key sessions, leading campus tours and serving as peer mentors for Destination Iowa State Team Leaders.
Each fall thousands of new students are welcomed to the Iowa State community by Destination Iowa State Team Leaders. Team Leaders serve as guides for new students throughout the three-day event by facilitating team building activities, escorting their team to DIS events, and serving as a positive role model and campus resource.
STARS spotlight student life at Iowa State for prospective students and their families. These students give campus and residence hall tours for daily campus visits, as well as assisting with group visits and the Experience Iowa State program.
Student Telecounseling staff members are responsible for providing excellent customer service while answering incoming phone calls to the Office of Admissions. These students are trained as admissions representatives and use their knowledge to assist prospective students with their application process, schedule campus visits, and provide general information to callers.
