Housing Options

Positive learning environment. Academic assistance. Lasting friendships. Leadership opportunities. Convenience. Living on campus will truly enhance your college experience.

The Iowa State Department of Residence has a variety of neighborhoods ranging from suite-style residence halls to family-student apartments available to fit your needs and lifestyle.

Residence halls

The majority of incoming freshman students live in the Richardson Court and Union Drive neighborhoods. The majority of the rooms are standard double rooms. However, there are a limited number of single and triple rooms available throughout the neighborhoods. Eaton and Martin Halls are suite-style buildings meaning two rooms (four people) share a bathroom.

Upper-division housing

Two additional residence halls and two apartment neighborhoods for our upper-division students (students 19 and older) provide the same benefits and conveniences of traditional residence hall living with more independence and privacy.

Greek community

Iowa State's Greek community and chapters are recognized nationally for the quality experience provided to student members. Forty-one chapters provide housing to more than 1,500 students. When you go Greek, you can expect more.
