Destination Iowa State
Destination Iowa State 2020: Re-imaginedWith the news of our updated academic calendar, Destination Iowa State (DIS) will be held August 13-15. Students will meet their group at their assigned time on August 13 to walk to Kickoff together. Activities will be offered in small groups throughout August 14 & 15 with evening programming as well. Activities will be offered in small groups with fewer students in space to promote health and wellness. Our full event schedule will be available in July, as well as guidelines students will be expected to follow to engage with our event. Students do not need to re-register for DIS. Our goals for DIS continue to be student connections, learning how to navigate campus, and an inspirational kickoff to their fall semester! In addition, Cyclone Aide Orientation Leaders will be reaching out virtually to students in the months of July & August to make connections and share a slate of virtual programming. We are excited to offer both virtual and on-campus support to new students in their transition to Iowa State. More details to come!
This is where the adventure begins!
Held prior to the beginning of fall and spring semesters, Destination Iowa State is a program designed to ease the transition to college for new Iowa State students.
During the program students will become acquainted with campus and attend sessions to increase their success at Iowa State, all while creating life-long friendships.
Students participating in the program prior to the fall semester will have the opportunity to enjoy a picnic, guest speakers, and a hypnotist, as well as the chance to give back by participating in a community service project.
