Big time sports.
Iowa State is proud to be a member of the Big 12 Conference boasting 18 intercollegiate competing teams.
But you don't have to be a big-time athlete to enjoy some major competition. Our students participate in intramural sports and sports clubs ranging from Texas Hold'em to club volleyball to the ever-popular broomball, all gunning for that coveted intramural champion t-shirt.
The Lied Recreation Center houses 20 basketball courts, a 6,000 square foot weight room, a climbing wall, volleyball courts, and the largest indoor running track in the United States.
Big time entertainment.
The university also offers outstanding facilities for the performing arts, including the 2,700-seat Stephens Auditorium, which presents world-renowned symphonies, orchestras, ballets, theatre, and comedies.
The smaller and more intimate Fisher Theater is perfect for student productions and one-man acts, while the 15,000-seat Hilton Coliseum hosts popular concerts and other hit entertainment acts.
