College of Human Sciences: Elementary Education
A degree in elementary education prepares you to teach all subject areas K–6, and extend your license K–8 in one or more of the following specialization areas: art, language arts, world languages, health, history, instructional strategist I (special education), mathematics, music, science, social studies, and speech/theater. As an elementary education major you will learn how to develop instructional materials for classroom use, adapt materials for diversity, and engage students in the critical fields of science-technology-education-mathematics (STEM). Your studies will prepare you with many classroom experiences including a supervised, semester-long student teaching experience.
