Iowa State offers hands-on experience with high-tech equipment—3-D body scanner, industrial-sized digital print, and new, industry-related design software—in state-of-the-art facilities such as a textiles laboratory, apparel production center, and clothing museum. You will design, produce, and market apparel in new colors, fabrics, and patterns, as well as participate in a field study in major market areas such as Chicago or New York or participate in international study programs in Europe. Your education will prepare you for a variety careers in the largest industry in the world—textiles and apparel—including fashion designer, merchandise analyst, or textile colorist.
