Application Process

  1. How do we define an international student?

  5. What is the difference between a letter of support and a bank statement?
    The letter of support is the promise of support for the student and is usually in the form of a letter from the parents or other sponsor. It should include how much money will be provided annually and how many years the student will be sponsored. A bank statement is a statement of account showing the first year's funds readily available or an official attestation from a bank officer that the promised funds are available.
  6. Can I defer (postpone) my offer of admission?
  7. I just started attending a university in my home country. Can I apply to Iowa State as a freshman?
  8. I already have a bachelor's degree from my home country. Can I get a second degree?

  1. Is the TOEFL required of nonnative English speakers who are transferring from U.S. colleges?
