Application Process

Life in Ames

  1. When do courses start?
  2. Do I need to have medical insurance?

    Yes. This coverage is mandatory for non-immigrant international students and their dependents. The students' insurance premium will be automatically assessed on their university bill.

    To enroll eligible dependents in the Student and Scholar Health Insurance Plan, international students must complete an Enrollment Form before the open enrollment deadlines or within 31 days of a qualifying event, such as first arrival of the dependents in the United States.
